The SPCA is a fantastic organisation! My family are huge supporters of them and have donated money to them on many occasions. Its good that there are people in this world trying to help these poor animals and give them a good chance at life... One thing i really like about the SPCA is that they de-sex all the animals that arrive on their doorstep. Its a really good thing to do because i know that breeding is one form of animal abuse. Like cats that unfortunatly have kittens and the owners just dump them or kill them, because they dont want the extra work... I read an article about a man whose Staffy had puppies and he put all 8 pups and the mum in a duffle bag and threw them over a bridge, because he didnt want them. Thats just not good enough - thats why we need people and organisations like the SPCA, so if need be, people can just take the puppies there, where they can get the proper attention needed.

Yes I agree Ashlee, the SPCA is a very good organistion.
My nana is on the committee for the SPCA in my home town and she has told me many sad stories about the poor animals. They get under nourshied and beaten animals dropped at their doorstep, because the owners dont want them. The SPCA then feed the animals and mend them back to health before offering them to a safe and healthy home for the animals. Yes, that is true it is so good that the animals get de-sexed because then there are not so many animals being abused by their owners..
Another thing I like about the SPCA is that all the committee and workers are mostly all volunteers. They take up their own time to help out the animals, which shows that some people do really care about animals safety and welfare but others out there think it is ok to be cruel to their animals.

Yup your completely right. If only there were more people out there willing to give up their time as volenteers. It must be hard for your nana working there and seeing how some animals are treated. But it is really good that most of the time the sad stories turn into happy ones, when as you said, the animals end up in safe and healthy homes. Its good that some animals out there get a second shot at happiness =)

what i just found when i clicked on the URL!!!

Frank was in quite a state when Taryn arrived on scene. He had a huge gash to his face, so deep that you could see into his nasal passage and his front leg was broken in five places, plus all the usual bruising and minor injuries associated with getting hit by speeding vehicles.

Frank's leg is in a cast and he has been on injectable pain relief and antibiotics on a daily basis. After six days, he has managed to start eating by himself; prior to that, Taryn had been syringe feeding him, just to keep him alive.

Despite everything that he's been through, Frank has been an angel with Taryn and other staff, showing no aggression whatsoever, despite his massive injuries and the pain and discomfort he's been enduring.

HOW sad is that, both drivers kept going and didnt stop to see if the poor dog is ok. How can someone not have feelings like that! They left him there to suffer and hes been through so much till now!

Its good to see that the SPCA have posted that on thier website because people may have extra information as to what happend or who owns the dog etc ..

if you click the URL you can see pics of Frank and how much hes been hurt :( its sad but its good to look at so people know how cruel some humans are!

i agree with you girls, this organization is great!
