Experts have stated that animal cruelty seems to occur because of a desire of power. Abusers exercise their power over helpless animals. Experts also say that animal abuse is becoming a very dangerous sign, especially with young children and teenagers.
It has been state that many notorious killers in the United States including Jeffrey Dahmer, David Berkowitz and Albert de Salvo all had a history of torturing animals when they were younger.
These facts about these killers show how alarming animal abuse in children and teenagers can be; it could be the start of very disastrous actions in later life. Parents need to be aware that if there children are into abusing their pets in their young lives it could be a sign they are troubled which could lead to worse thing in later lives, moving from their pets to real humans.
It has been seen that people are not in the mood to let animal abusers get away with their crimes now. It has become too common and is now a very alarming problem throughout many countries around the world.

So people who attack animals are most likely going to end up killing other people. All the more reason for harsher punishments and laws. If we can make them pay for what they have done to the animals, then they may think twice when they decide to kill humans. I found that article really interesting, especially the part that says most people who abuse animals are teens. I found that quite random as most of the stories you have put up Ashleigh, have been about adults abusing animals. But i guess, as the article says, animal abuse starts at an early age. And that could be a good thing cause while these people are younger, theres more of a chance of them getting help and preventing this for carrying on.
Yeah well when they are children they take it as just being naughty when they hurt animals, thats why you never really hear about it in the news or paprs. Its when they get to adults where they start doing the very harsh things to animals like putting them in microwaves or throwing them off buildings...
It is bit different with adults because they are old enough to know what they are doing, whereas younger children not so much!
